Sex, power and scandal have long been intertwined. The shadow aspects of sexuality (seduction, guilt, trauma, lust, insecurity, shame etc.), which we all have in some aspect, drive unconscious sexual choices. The bubble has burst and women and men everywhere are finally speaking up about sexual misconduct, abuse and sexual harassment—many of these issues have often remained hidden or silenced until recently. Anahata Ananda and Ananda Yogjiji discuss the collective upholding of unconscious power, how to create a safe space for transparency and healing, as well as how to hold ourselves, individuals and organizations accountable in today’s culture.

Ananda Yogiji is an internationally loved musician, song composer and mantra enthusiast. His musical offerings complement his yogic practices with a deep devotional spirit. Since 2006, Ananda has been a dedicated practitioner and teacher of yoga, particularly Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. This April he also completed a 300hr teacher training in the Himalyan Yoga tradition known as Sattva Yoga. In May of 2020, he completed an 18 day, 60 hour course on the Bhagavad Gita, both the 300hr and Gita courses we taught by Anand Mehrotra, a himalayan yogic master. He has toured year round since 2011 with Jaya Lakshmi.
